Review: The 10 Inch Rick Grimes Figure.

Hi guys!
So I'm here with my first review, on the 10 Inch Rick Grimes Figure! :D

This retails for around 30-40 pounds/dollars. I got mine for Christmas off of eBay. You can get it from ShopTheWalkingDead.Com and Amazon, pretty much most figure stores. It's perfect for me, because I'm a huge Rickyl lover, Rick & Daryl, I love their romance, haha! So now I have both the Rick and Daryl 10 inch figures, I shall do a review on Daryl's at some point. :)

Let's begin! :)

First of all here's a full photo of the figure:
He's a brilliant height and weight. I find he stands up a lot easier than Daryl, as my Dad had to make a stand for Daryl to stay upright.

He comes equipped with his signature beige button up shirt, black jeans and Police Belt.

And of course his signature weapon, the Colt Python! Lovely sculpted.

His shirt is brilliant, the crinkles and everything look real. It's dingy as well, which adds a great effect, as Ricks has lost it's colour in the show.

He has a holster for his gun, but as I have the arm that holds the gun on, I put his knife in there.
Here's the knife.

His belt is great, the silver has faded from sunlight and age, like in the show.

They didn't forget his signature silver watch!

Nor did they forget his signature silver band wedding ring.

His boots are pretty awesome, faded and ruffled. Great effects.

His jeans are dirty and faded, yet again, just like in the show.

A side face view.

His face is pretty spot on, I don't think you can get it much better, technology only goes so far. His eyebrows and wrinkled forehead are great touches, as when Rick holds his gun up, he's often frowning. His nose and lips are well sculpted. His beard is just awesome! His ears... well, there... ears? Haha! His face is great.

I love his curly locks!

A back view.
His shirt is darker on the back like the show, it kind of acts as a shadow, like a walker looming behind him, or the sun reflecting, at least that's what I think. :) His rifle, used quite often in season 3, is great. The rifle is optional and you can have it over his shoulder, which requires changing arms, I'll get into that later. Or you can not have the rifle at all, I just wanted to add it to his back.

As his head is turned, the wrinkles in his neck are brilliant. Well remembered, I love it.

There's scuffs on the gun, which is a great detail, as the guns are thrown about a lot.

His belt is cool, his pocket knife attached on the right, along with a pocket I believe? In the centre. It's on his belt in the show, I'd say it's just to hold stuff.

A back view of his jeans.

A back view of his hair. Sorry it's a little blurry.
Here's the changeable arm that I was talking about, it makes it so he holds his rifle over his shoulder, like this:

Here's the front of the box.

It says The Walking Dead with rail road tracks and half of Ricks face, the photo is from the season 3 portrait photos.

Top of the box, sorry it won't let me rotate the photo.

The other side of the box, with the other half of Rick's face!

The back of the box.

I love this on the side of the box!

It says "They're screwing with the wrong people", I love that and the photo!

So there's the photos and details!

What I like:

  • The features on his face are great.
  • The clothing is brilliantly sculpted and effected.
  • Good weight.
  • Good height.
  • He stands well.
What I dislike:
  • I watch a lot of reviews of merchandise and all people do is complain. All I can really say, which isn't a complaint, because it's a good thing, it's not very durable. But if it's too durable, it'll just break, besides, it doesn't really need to move a lot, it isn't a toy figure, it's to display. Removing the arm is scary, in case it breaks. But I can't really find fault with it.
What I'd recommend not doing:
  • Changing the arm a lot, as eventually, it may break.
  • Putting it on a high shelf - if it falls it may break.
  • Not dusting it - keep it clean.
  • Trying to twist the head, arms or legs too much.
  • Being rough with it.
How to keep it clean if it's out of the box?
  • A silk or cotton rag that's clean and dry, just to give it a wipe over to remove dust.
  • Cotton Wool Sticks are a great way to clean the small features.
  • Put it in a glass cabinet.
I guess that's all I can say! I'd definitely recommend it and it's definitely worth the price. It's a great figure and I love it!

I hope you enjoyed my first review! Stay tuned for many more!
Stay alive! Bye! :D
